Day 1: Arrive Cape Town
Arrive at Cape Town International Airport. On arrival, you will be met by a Thompsons Africa representative and transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure to explore on your own. Explore the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront for some great restaurants and nightlife. This is one of Cape Town’s biggest tourist attractions. This busy harbour is set in the midst of the huge entertainment venue with pubs, restaurants, crafts markets, theatres and lots more. Situated between Robben Island and Table Mountain, in the heart of Cape Town’s harbour, and set with a magnificent backdrop of the sea and mountains. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Half Day Cape Town City Tour
After breakfast proceed for half day Cape Town City tour including tickets up to the Table Mountain (weather permitting). Take the cable car to the summit of the legendary Table Mountain and get spectacular views of the entire city and the surrounding layout of this southernmost tip of Africa.
Then we visit the country’s oldest building, The Castle and the Company Gardens, both historically fascinating. Our drive continues past Parliament Buildings, City Hall and the Slave Lodge. Colonial changes to colourful as we move up the cobblestoned hills to the Malay Quarter and marvel at the ice-cream colours of the quaint Bo-Kaap homes. The day ends on a sparkling note, as we trace the moves of a professional diamond cutter, as he creates diamonds. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Full Day Peninsular Tour
After breakfast, proceed for a full day Peninsula Tour – its wild, its rugged and is one of the most memorable coastlines, Cape Peninsula and the splendour of Cape Point. We begin our journey cruising along Millionaires Paradise – look at the glamorous homes and beautiful people of Clifton Beach and Camps Bay. From here we wind our way towards the charming coastal town and working harbour of Hout Bay, then hug the cliffs as we proceed along the legendary Chapman’s Peak Drive with its breathtaking views towards the Cape of Good Hope section of the Table Mountain National Park and its rugged landscape. Take an optional trip to Boulders Beach penguin colony (on own account), a fascinating excursion before we move on to the historical naval port of Simon’s Town. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Cape Town - Durban
Upon arrival at Durban’s King Shaka International Airport you will be met by a Thompsons Africa representative and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Apart from the effervescent ocean lined with golden beaches, Durban offers subtropical carnival atmosphere & summer sunshine all year round with an excellent one-stop shopping centre where you can buy anything from photographic equipment to clothing and rare antiques. Flea markets & crafts trails attract leisurely browsers. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 5: Half Day Durban City Tour
After breakfast, we take you on a scheduled half day Durban highlights tour. Tour begins as you travel along the brand-new Golden mile, the revitalized beachfront promenade which hugs the beckoning beaches of Durban. Then we will move through the city, viewing the majestic hall, the original offices of the Kwa Muhle Museum (closed Sundays). Then we will visit the peaceful Durban Botanic Gardens founded in 1849, a treasure trove of massive trees from Asia, Africa and America and a magnificent orchid house. We then conclude with a visit to an icon of Kwazulu Natal, the Moses Mabhida Stadium where you will have an option of experiencing the cable car ride (on own) to the top of the Stadium for that phenomenal view of Durban and its surroundings. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 6: Explore Durban
Breakfast at the Hotel. Morning at leisure. Afternoon proceed to Africa’s largest Dolphinarium, uShaka Marine World. Its fascinating journey around 30 in- and outdoor themed exhibits, and don’t miss the spectacular dolphin, seal and penguin shows. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 7: Durban – Sun city
After breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport for your flight to Johannesburg. Transfer to Sun City. After a brief orientation tour, the evening is free to explore this huge complex on your own. Enjoy the golden city of fun and entertainment where one can play at the world-class casinos, enjoy superb sporting facilities and glitzy extravaganza shows. Provide an endless pleasurable pastime. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: Sun City
After breakfast, proceed for a half day game drive to Pilanesberg National Park. Set in the crater of a long extinct volcano, the Park ranks among the largest of the parks in South Africa (fourth largest park) and covers an area of 55,000 hectares. The beauty of Pilanesberg is reflected in a large central lake, the Mankwe Dam. Over time, wind and water have carved a spectacular landscape with rocky outcrops, open grasslands, wooded valleys and thickets. Pilanesberg National Park accommodates virtually every mammal of South Africa and is also home to the “Big Five”. After the game drive return back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Depart Sun City / Johannesburg
After breakfast you will be transferred by shuttle to O.R Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg) for your onward flight home
